Several storage units were badly damaged in a fire on Charles Garnett Drive in Hopkinsville that may have been caused by storms in the area Monday night.

Hopkinsville Fire Department Spokesman Captain Payton Rogers says they were called to By-Pass Self Storage and Warehouse and when they arrived smoke and flames were coming from 10 units on the back side of the property.

Firefighters from all four stations were called to help in extinguishing the fire which took 10 hours to extinguish.

The fire was contained to the NN building.

Rogers says the fire may have been started by the strong storms that came through the area before the fire but the report will remain listing the cause as undetermined while they still Investigate.
