An East 13th Street home was severely damaged in a fire Wednesday morning.
Hopkinsville Fire Department Spokesman Captain Payton Rogers says the power had just been turned on and the home was going to be remodeled but a fire started in the back of the home while no one was there.
The fire was quickly extinguished but Rogers says the structure suffered severe damage.
The home is near the intersection of Walnut Street.
