An Oak Grove man was charged with possession of drugs and fleeing from law enforcement after a traffic stop on East 10th Street Tuesday morning.

Hopkinsville Police say they attempted to stop 47-year-old Antonio Peoples for a seat belt violation and he fled with the officer losing sight of his vehicle.

He was reportedly then located again in the same area after losing control of the vehicle and hitting a parked car then fleeing on foot. He reportedly hid beside a house where he was located by officers.

After a search of his vehicle, police say hydrocodone and morphine pills were located that Peoples claimed were his ex-girlfriends.

He was arrested and charged with reckless driving, second-degree fleeing or evading police, leaving the scene of an accident, driving with a DUI suspended license second offense, first-degree possession of a controlled substance (drug unspecified), and possession of hydrocodone.
