Man Charged With Assaulting His Girlfriend And Police

A Hopkinsville man was charged with assaulting his girlfriend along with a police officer on Koffman Drive Wednesday afternoon.

Hopkinsville Police say 19-year-old Jayvion Hearst assaulted, choked, and threatened to kill his girlfriend when she tried to leave with their child during an argument.

After being arrested he reportedly beat his head on the partition in the back of the police cruiser causing his head to bleed then started yelling at the hospital and spitting blood at officers.

He was arrested and charged with third-degree terroristic threatening, second-degree unlawful imprisonment, third-degree assault of a police officer, and second-degree strangulation.
