A Crofton man was charged with DUI after he was found sleeping in his vehicle at the intersection of Susan Avenue and Fort Campbell Boulevard Tuesday morning.

Hopkinsville Police say 26-year-old Rakeem Chambers was sleeping in the running vehicle at the intersection and when they woke him up he grabbed a gun and tried to put it in the seat.

He reportedly told officers he had been drinking the night before and was just sleepy.

He was arrested and charged with failure to produce an insurance card, DUI, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
