An investigation into an abandoned vehicle in Land Between the Lakes on Thursday led to the discovery of a homicide victim in Marshall County.
In a Saturday night Facebook post by Kentucky State Police Trooper Sarah Burgess, the US Forestry Service found the abandoned vehicle on Thursday and requested state police conduct a welfare check on the person known to regularly drive it — 44-year-old Jesse Moore of Benton.
Troopers responded to a residence in the Possum Trot community and found Moore dead from a gunshot wound. Burgess said an autopsy was conducted on Saturday and foul play is suspected.
