Fireworks return to the beach at Lake Barkley State Resort Park on Saturday, with a few changes in place for this year’s celebration.
Park Manager Ashley Joiner told Your News Edge that activities ramp up by 3:00 Saturday afternoon.
The Bass brothers from Hopkinsville will coordinate this year’s fireworks show.
Joiner added there is another change, you will not be able to swim at the beach.
The activities offered at the festival and the fireworks show are free of charge. The effort is now sponsored by Cadiz-Trigg County Tourism, following the Friends of Land Between the Lakes’ decision to cease sponsorship of the show due to rising costs.
106.5 WKDZ-FM, WKDZradio.com, and the WKDZ app will provide a Patriotic soundtrack to the evening’s festivities – the music will start around 8:45 Saturday night. The music is also sponsored by the local tourism group.
