Thursday marks the 248th anniversary of the publication of the United States Declaration of Independence.

According to member Geoff Baggett, the Col. Stephen Trigg Chapter of the Sons of American Revolution will host a reading of the important document on Thursday morning at 10:00 in West Cadiz Park.

The dramatic reading means you can boo, hiss, and “Huzzah,” when appropriate. SAR member Steve Mallory adds when the reading is over, everyone can sign a copy of the Declaration of Independence like the men who founded America.

Benjamin Franklin may even make a special appearance during the event.

Both men hope the event will serve as a great learning experience for all who attend.

The Sons of the American Revolution is the largest male lineage organization in the United States and comprises numerous state societies and more than 500 chapters.
