Over 140 students need assistance from Helping Hands of Trigg County before heading back to school next month.

Every year before returning to the classroom, the local organization hosts a donation drive at Hancock’s Neighborhood Market in Cadiz. The event will take place Thursday afternoon from 3:00 to 5:00.

K.G. Ariagno, from Helping Hands, says they need significant funding to help these children.

Hancock’s Neighborhood Market owner Mallory Lawrence encourages the community to step up and help those who need a helping hand.

Last year, the group collected over $26,000 to help students in need. This year’s shopping for new supplies and clothes will take place on Monday, August 5th.

Donations can be dropped off at Hancock’s Neighborhood Market anytime between now and the donation drive. Checks can also be mailed to Helping Hands of Trigg County, P. O. Box 1874, Cadiz, KY, 42211.

If Trigg County students need clothing or school supplies, contact Ariagno at (270) 522-5615.
