Trigg County Man Charged With Severely Assaulting A Woman

A woman suffered severe injuries during an assault on Apple Valley Drive in Trigg County Monday afternoon.

Trigg County Sheriff’s deputies say a woman went to the home of 82-year-old James Musselman to check on him when he closed the door behind her, punched her several times, grabbed her by the hair, threw her to the ground, and hit her in the head with a pipe.

He reportedly ripped off some of her clothing during the assault.

Deputies say when they arrived Musselman who is a convicted felon was armed with a gun but they were able to talk him into coming outside of the home and being taken into custody.

The woman reportedly suffered severe injuries in the assault.

Musselman was arrested by Deputy CJ Ahart and charged with first-degree unlawful imprisonment, first-degree assault, first-degree wanton endangerment, and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.

He was also found to have a outstanding warrant for failure to appear.
