Man Charged In Oak Grove Fight Involving A Machete

A Florida man has been charged after a fight at the Pilot on Pembroke-Oak Grove Road that led to severe injuries Tuesday morning.

Oak Grove Police say 32-year-old Yoandi Perez and a 58-year-old man were in the same tractor-trailer and got into a fight, during the altercation both of them received injuries with the man receiving severe wounds from a machete.

The window in the tractor-trailer was also broken while police say Perez attacked the man with the machete.

Hopkinsville Fire Department Spokesman Payton Rogers says the 58-year-old man was flown to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville with critical wounds to his upper body.

Perez was reportedly transported to the hospital by ambulance for cuts and was later arrested and charged with first-degree assault.

The name of the man who was severely injured has not been released.
