A Cadiz man, who chairs the World War I Memorial Commission, says the new memorial located in Pershing Park in Washington, DC, portrays a story like no other memorial in the national capitol.

During a recent meeting, Terry Hamby told the Cadiz Rotary Club that he was humbled and honored when he was asked to serve on the World War I Memorial Commission by the United States Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell. The architect for the project was Joe Weishaar, and the memorial was crafted by sculptor Sabin Howard. Hamby says the memorial is appropriately titled “A Soldier’s Journey”.
