Officials with Trigg County Public Schools announced Tuesday the appointment of Laura James as the next director of student services and personnel.
Having spent 25 years in education, the last eight have been in school administration and student services — most recently as the director of pupil personnel and an assistant principal in the Dawson Springs Independent School District.
In a written statement, James said she firmly believes the foundation of a successful educational environment is “the connections created and nurtured within the community.”
James will be responsible for the oversight of student services, personnel matters and the coordination of Family Resources and Youth Service Centers — as well as the direction of Trigg Tots and Harbor Academy.
Superintendent Rex Booth noted James brings “a wealth of experience, and a passion for fostering a supportive and effective educational environment.”
She holds various degrees and certifications from Murray State University, including: instructional leadership, director of special education, and director of pupil personnel.
