The 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell will deploy the division’s Combat Aviation Brigade “Wings of Destiny” to the US Central Command in the Middle East.
They will replace the 10th Mountain Division’s Combat Aviation Brigade in a one-for-one replacement.
Col. Tyler Partridge, commander of the 101st Combat Aviation Brigade, said the unit’s soldiers work every day to employ aircraft in support of the ground force and will continue to do so wherever the mission takes them.
The 101st Airborne Division is a part of the United States Army’s effort to pioneer the evolution of vertical envelopment with modern equipment and well-trained soldiers and to prepare the nation to win in any future military combat environment or conflict.
Units of the 101st CAB returned from a nine-month Middle East deployment in February 2023.
