Authorities Continue To Investigate Second Threat To Christian County Schools

A second threat involving Christian County schools posted on social media has led to an investigation Monday afternoon.

Hopkinsville Police say after the first threat from Monday morning was found to be a hoax, they have now received information about a second threat posted online of a school shooting later in the week.

Police say they are interviewing some people involved in the second threat and are working with social media companies to get the GPS coordinates to the users posting the threats under fake accounts.

School district spokeswoman Johnna Brown says at this time there is no credible threat towards any of the campuses in Christian County.

Brown says we will still have heightened security at the schools as we continue to work with local law enforcement as they Investigate the threats.

Police say anyone involved with the threat could be charged with second-degree terroristic threatening which is a class C felony.

Police ask that everyone provide them with the post they have seen and not share it because it is helping the people who are trying to instill fear and concern.

No other information has been released at this time.
