Christian County Judge Executive Jerry Gilliam is rather satisfied with the idea of economic growth coming to Oak Grove with the recent announcement of Buc-ee’s.
Judge Gilliam told Your News Edge that work began early in his current job and shared he was not going to stop.
Gilliam added that Buc-ee’s officials showed him pictures during presentations concerning growth over the years in other locations after stores were operating.
He said that although Buc-ee’s does not qualify for any state tax rebate incentives, some local opportunities are offered.
The Oak Grove Buc-ee’s is expected to create 300 jobs upon completion, offering wages starting at approximately $18 an hour to salaries exceeding $200,000.
