Woman Charged With Drug Possession During Hopkinsville Traffic Stop

A traffic stop on North Drive for disregarding a traffic light led to charges for a Hopkinsville man and woman Monday night.

Hopkinsville Police say they stopped a car driven by 53-year-old Frank Williams for disregarding a traffic light, and during the stop, a law enforcement K9 alerted to drugs being in the vehicle.

Police say Williams’s passenger 45-year-old Tameko Lafferty claimed two bags in the car were her’s that contained pills, a crystal white substance, and drug paraphernalia. Before being arrested she was reportedly found to have pills in her clothing as well.

They were both arrested. Lafferty was charged with possession of meth, tampering with physical evidence, and first-degree possession of a controlled substance. Williams was charged with disregarding a traffic control device and possession of drug paraphernalia.
