The Hopkinsville Home Improvement Program presented a new house Wednesday morning to longtime resident Larry Shelton.

Shelton, alongside Mayor J.R. Knight and Community and Development Services Director Holly Boggess, was handed the keys to his 117 Linn Street residence.

The project required the demolition of his old home and a complete reconstruction on the same footprint. Outlaw Contracting Company and Done Right Remodeling completed the work.

Shelton said he hopes efforts like this continue to help others in need.

The funding for the project came from the Kentucky Housing Corporation’s Affordable Housing Trust Fund and Community Development Block Grant dollars.
