Jean Petty Hancock, 90, of Hopkinsville, KY died at 10:36 a.m. Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at Tennova Healthcare in Clarksville, TN.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 3, 2024, at Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home with Rev. Ron Hicks officiating. Burial will follow in Rosedale Cemetery in Pembroke, KY. Visitation will be on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour. Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
A native of Christian County, KY she was born August 14, 1934, the daughter of the late Joe E. Petty and Ruth Courtney Petty. She worked as a receptionist for First City Bank. After spending nine years in the banking industry, Jean transitioned to the medical field where she spent the next 38 years working for Dr. Isele, Dr. Traughber, Dr. Thomas, Dr. Calhoun, and Dr. Chirravuri. She was a charter member of Henderson Memorial Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son: Boyd Hancock; her brother: Ernest E. Petty; two grandchildren; and one great grandchildren.
Survivors include her sons: Joe (Peggy) Everett and Scott (Sandra) Hancock both of Hopkinsville, KY; 20 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Henderson Memorial Baptist Church.
