A Crofton woman was charged with abandoning a child in a vehicle on Fort Campbell Boulevard Friday afternoon.
Hopkinsville Police say they were called for a child left in a vehicle in a parking lot and charged her babysitter, 73-year-old Betty Dixon.
Dixon reportedly told police the child was eating so she left her in the vehicle while she went into Goodwill.
Police say the vehicle was running and the doors were unlocked.
The child was checked out by Hopkinsville EMS. Dixon was arrested and charged with abandonment of a minor.
