A man was charged after a pursuit with law enforcement in Hopkinsville Sunday morning.
Hopkinsville Police say they attempted to stop a vehicle for disregarding a stop sign in the area of Walnut Street, and the driver 31-year-old Tavian Spencer fled, getting up to speeds of 80 mph.
The pursuing officer reportedly lost sight of the vehicle at one point, but it was located a short time after wrecking on Greenville Road in the area of the 2600 block.
Police say Spencer was located a short distance up the road and taken into custody.
Spencer’s vehicle reportedly hit at least two other vehicles while he was fleeing from law enforcement.
He is charged with first-degree fleeing or evading police, first-degree wanton endangerment, first-degree criminal mischief, leaving the scene of an accident, driving on a DUI-suspended license, and several traffic violations.
