A Hopkinsville man and woman were charged with trafficking drugs after two separate traffic stops in Hopkinsville Tuesday afternoon.

Hopkinsville Police say they stopped 41-year-old Troy Scott on South Virginia Street after he was seen by officers switching the license plate from one vehicle to another.

City cameras reportedly confirmed the two separate vehicles had been using the same license plate. Police say a law enforcement K9 alerted on both vehicles; money and cocaine were found in a vehicle and on Scott.

In a separate traffic stop on East 9th Street, police say they stopped a car driven by 41-year-old Natalie Gonsalez for a turn signal violation.

During the stop, 50 grams of white powder, 300 grams of suspected meth, and 8 ounces of marijuana were reportedly found.

Scott was arrested and charged with trafficking cocaine, no registration plates, and no insurance. Gonsalez was also arrested and charged with trafficking cocaine, meth, and marijuana.
