Two Charged In Trigg County Vehicle Theft Investigation

Two Houston, Texas, men have been charged in connection to the attempted theft of a vehicle at Wildcat Chevrolet in Trigg County Monday.

Trigg County Sheriff’s Deputy CJ Ahart says he observed a vehicle on Cadiz Mill Road behind Wildcat Chevrolet as he was responding to an alarm call at the business and stopped the vehicle.

The driver, 27-year-old Deshaun Sims-Dials, had reportedly dropped off 20-year-old Elgie Holmes to take a truck from the dealership.

Ahart says Holmes was located at a gas station in the area with the help of law enforcement K9 Rex, and the men were in possession of a scanning machine that would allow them to start any vehicle without the key fob.

Sims-Dials is charged with second-degree criminal mischief and theft by unlawful taking. Holmes is charged with theft by unlawful taking, first-degree unlawful access to a computer, possession of burglary tools, and second-degree criminal mischief.

This is the second recovered vehicle stolen from Wildcat Chevrolet in the month of October.

Deputies were assisted at the scene by the Cadiz Police Department. The case is being handled by Detective Shawn Young.
