The Museums of Historic Hopkinsville-Christian County will be having a pair of Soul Strolls this week to honor the community’s ancestors.
The Soul Strolls will be Friday, November 1, at 6pm and 8pm at Riverside Cemetery, the city’s largest burial ground.
The walking tour will cover approximately one mile and will last approximately 90 minutes. Each tour will be limited to 25 people. Tickets are $15 per person and $12 for museum members. You can purchase tickets at the Pennyroyal Area Museum or online through their Shopify store.
Located on North Main and Metcalfe streets, Riverside Cemetery became Hopkinsville’s official resting place in 1854. With its first grave in a small family plot in 1837, this graveyard has grown to include 65 acres and close to 25,000 burials.
