Gary Ronald Covington, 71, of Hopkinsville, died at 10:23 p.m. Thursday, October 24, 2024 at Baptist Health Deaconess Madisonville.
Memorial services will be held at a later date. Dogwood Funerals & Cremations of Hopkinsville is assisting with the arrangements.
A native of Belleville, IL he was born the son of the late Melvin Covington, Sr. and Margaret Summers Covington. He was a member of Cross Pointe Ministries.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Sharon Marshall Covington; his daughters: Shannon Bowels and Becky Covington; his brothers: Michael Covington, Steve Covington, Larry Covington, David Covington, and Melvin Covington, Jr; and his sisters: Betty Forgy, Darlene Goodman, Caroline Spohn and Jean Roe.
Survivors include his daughter: Donna Jones of Hopkinsville, KY; his brothers: Kenney Covington of Russellville, KY, and Troy (Michelle) Covington of Lewisburg, KY; his sisters: Brenda (Matt) Shutt of Sharon Grove, KY, Kathy (Leon) Irvin of Lewisburg, KY and Debbie Covington of Lewisburg, KY; his grandchildren: Heather Jones, Robert Jones, Jr, Courtney (Michael) Thompson, Dylan Jones and Cierra Kirtley; and his 12 great-grandchildren.
