Christian County Clerk Melinda Humphries says her office is making the final preparations for next Tuesday’s general election, and some forms of voting are already underway.
Humphries told the Hopkinsville Rotary Club on Tuesday that in-person absentee voting with a valid excuse will end on Wednesday. On Thursday, three days of early voting will begin at the Bruce Convention Center, the Christian County Senior Citizen’s Center, and the Walnut Street Center. The voting centers will be open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 8:00 until 4:00.
Humphries says an ID will be needed to vote at the early voting centers and on election day. She adds there is a special circumstance clause for people who want to vote but don’t have an ID.

That could mean a ballot that has writing and voting choices on both the front and back. She encourages you to read the amendments before you go vote and know which way you want to cast your ballot to save time.
She also says that if you vote straight party ticket on your ballot, it does not apply to non-partisan races.
