Turnout was strong in early voting in both Christian and Trigg Counties on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
Christian County Clerk Melinda Humphries says 2,422 voters cast ballots early Saturday, November 2, with 2,848 voters stopping by polling places on Friday, and 2.934 voters marking their ballots early on Thursday, bringing the three day total to 8,204. Humphries says voter turnout Thursday and Friday was heaviest at the Christian County Senior Citizens Center with 1,374 voting Thursday and 1,242 voting on Friday. Saturday the heaviest voter turnout was at the Bruce Convention Center where 1,094 voters cast ballots, compared to 909 at the Seniors Center. Walnut Street Center had 512 voters Thursday, 534 Friday, and 419 on Saturday.
Meanwhile in Trigg County Clerk Carmen Finley says 745 voters stopped by the Trigg County EOC building Thursday to vote early, with 950 on Friday, and 845 on Saturday, bringing the three day Trigg County early voting total to 2,540.
After three days of early voting, the polls across Kentucky will remain closed on Sunday and Monday and will reopen for a full day of voting on election day Tuesday, November 5th from 6 am until 6 pm.
