A couple charged with the criminal abuse of their children and a separate case involving a high-speed police pursuit were among several indictments issued by the Christian County Grand Jury Friday.

Daniel Oliver of Hopkinsville and Brittany Oliver of Clarksville each face separate indictments, with both charged on three counts of first-degree abuse of a child aged 12 or under.

The couple was arrested by Hopkinsville Police in September following a welfare check request, prompted by the discovery of a woman and child sleeping in a vehicle. Police reported that Brittany Oliver claimed the children were sleeping in the house with her husband.

Police reported that inside the home, they discovered a non-functional bathroom, a bathtub full of feces, trash and feces scattered throughout the house, no beds for the children, and evidence that the children had not been bathed.

The grand jury also indicted Noah Curran, of Fort Campbell, on charges of first-degree fleeing or evading police, second-degree criminal mischief, first-degree wanton endangerment and a misdemeanor offense.

Curran was arrested by Hopkinsville Police on September 18 following a high-speed chase in Christian County. Police said the pursuit began when officers attempted to stop him for speeding on a motorcycle near the intersection of Fort Campbell Boulevard and Lovers Lane. The pursuit ended when Curran’s motorcycle ran off the road into a ditch on Loop Lane in Gracey.
