Michael C. Baxter II, 59, of Crofton, died at 8:04 a.m. Saturday, December 14, 2024 at Jennie Stuart Medical Center.
Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 20, 2024 at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home. Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
A native of Tampa, FL he was born October 21, 1965, the son of Michael Calvin Baxter. He retired from the United States Army where he spent most of his years as a Flight Instructor specializing in Chinook Helicopters. He was a lifetime member of the Night Stalkers Association. Following retirement, he enjoyed photography and was a CB radio enthusiast.
The most important thing to Mike was his family. He is survived by his wife: Nic Baxter; his sons: Michael (Amanda) Baxter of Hopkinsville, KY, and Joe (Shauni Gerbenskey) Baxter of Woodstock, GA; his grandson: Calvin William Baxter; his siblings: Andrew (Donna) Baxter of Waterloo, IL, Christine Baxter of Tampa, FL, Wayne (Roxanne) Baxter of Brooksville, FL, Greg Baxter of Tampa, FL, and Letha Morris of Tampa, FL; and his stepmother: Joanne Sue Delong of Brooksville, FL.
In place of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Wreath Trust, Inc. – Wreathes Across America or the Night Stalkers Association.
