A stolen vehicle was recovered after a pursuit in Hopkinsville on Major Lane Monday morning.
Hopkinsville Police say they located an SUV around 2 am that had just been reported stolen on Tanglewood Drive and attempted to stop it on Major Lane when the driver, 21-year-old Allen Shaw, fled at a high rate of speed.
The pursuit reportedly came to an end on Smith Road with Shaw fleeing on foot.
Police say they searched the area but did not locate Shaw; after just over 4 hours, someone called in reporting a suspicious person, and Shaw was located.
He was arrested and charged with theft by unlawful taking, disregarding a stop sign, disregarding a traffic control device, and two counts of first-degree fleeing or evading police.
