A Hopkinsville man was charged with fleeing or evading police and drug possession on Oak Street on Christmas Day.

Hopkinsville Police say they tried to stop 32-year-old Danny Mazuera, who was on a bicycle, on Central Avenue and he fled on foot from them before being taken into custody in a backyard off Falls Lane.

He was reportedly found to be in possession of meth and a syringe.

Mazuera was arrested and charged with possession of meth, tampering with physical evidence, and second-degree fleeing or evading police. He also had a warrant for probation violation.
