A Hopkinsville woman was charged after she left two children at a business and then assaulted a third on South Main Street in Hopkinsville Monday morning.
Hopkinsville Police say 33-year-old Mechelle McGregor left a 7 and 11-year-old at Coffee Connection and then walked away, stating she was done with them.
Police say during the investigation, she was found on video in the business to have dragged a 4-year-old by their clothing around their neck and hit the child in the head multiple times.
She was found in the area, then arrested and charged with fourth-degree assault child abuse and abandonment of a minor.
