On Thursday, Governor Andy Beshear provided an update regarding the recent winter storms in Kentucky, which have been linked to several fatalities caused by the ice and snow events.
Gov. Beshear said he believes that the response to the winter storms has been one of the best that has been seen in decades. However, he added that the Kentucky Emergency Management and the Department of Public Health have confirmed six deaths related to the storms.

He added that if individuals cannot reach their local 911 dispatch, they can call the 24-hour state line at 800-255-2587, stressing that this option should only be used if the local dispatch is unreachable.
