John Franklin Darnell, age 84 of Pembroke, passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at Bradford Heights of natural causes. Joint funeral services for John and his son J. Todd Darnell will be at 2:00 PM on Monday, January 20, 2025, at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home with burial to follow in Rosedale Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home that morning from 11:00 AM until the funeral hour. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family to handle the arrangements.
Mr. Darnell was born on May 23, 1940, in Caldwell County, KY, the son of the late Edge and Annie” Nervia” Mitchell Darnell. John worked for Roger Group and IMI and was a veteran in the US Army Reserves. He was a member of St. John Methodist Church. John loved antique cars and was a member of the Antique Automobile Club of America.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Anita Litchfield Darnell of Pembroke; his son, Todd Darnell (Trina) of Pembroke; his brother, Ed Darnell of Princeton,
