A traffic stop on Pennyrile Parkway led to drug charges for two men and a woman Friday afternoon.
Hopkinsville Police say they stopped a vehicle driven by 29-year-old Daniel Williamson of Owensboro for an expired license plate, and during the stop, he was found to have a syringe and a small bag containing suspected fentanyl.
His passengers, 56-year-old John Jones of Hopkinsville and 36-year-old Julia Cunningham of Cadiz, were both reportedly found to have bags of suspected fentanyl along with other drug paraphernalia.
They were all arrested, with Cunningham and Jones being both charged with trafficking fentanyl and Williamson was charged with possession of fentanyl.
Cunningham was reportedly found to have a bag of suspected fentanyl inside her body after an x-ray at the jail, and then she was additionally charged with tampering with physical evidence and first-degree promoting contraband.
