The Flats of Hopkinsville will soon be part of the city limits. Tuesday night, City Council approved the first reading of the annexation for Barrow Development. The property is on Lafayette Road, adjacent to the Tie Breaker Park and the Stadium of Champions.
City Council also approved the second reading to zone land at the corner of Russellville Road and the bypass. The Heltsley land was previously unzoned. The new transitional zoning designation will allow for future projects.
Meanwhile, Chief Financial Officer, Melissa Clayton told Council the city-wide payroll numbers are up over last year.
