Officials with Feeding America, Kentucky’s Heartland (FAKH) have announced a new Board of Directors appointment.

Christian County’s Martha Steil will serve for the next six years, helping to advance the organization’s vision of providing equitable access to nutritious food — so that no one in the region will go hungry.

She will become the third member of board from Christian County, representing the organization’s third largest community in their region.

Steil has been a Kentucky resident since 2003. She graduated from New York University with a B.S. degree in behavior and communication, and received her master’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She has worked for United Southern Bank since 2015, and currently serves as their human resources director.

Before working with United Southern Bank, she held positions as human resources manager at Propulsys, Inc., and human resource generalist at Lourdes Hospital.

Charles Dennis, executive director, noted Steil has a “real passion” for serving neighbors in her community, and is already connected with FAKH’s Aaron McNeil House partnership — one that serves hundreds of Christian County residents.

Steil, meanwhile, said she is “excited” to join the board, while collectively work to strengthen our communities.
