Eight local high school students from within Congressman James Comer’s 1st Congressional District have received nominations for appointments to the United States service academies.
This includes:
+ Hopkinsville’s Jackson Benjamin Smith, who attends Hopkinsville High School and has been tabbed for the United States Naval Academy, the United States Air Force Academy and the United States Military Academy West Point.
+ Fort Campbell’s Antwan Jacobe Dunmyer, Jr., who attends Immanuel Christian High School and is planning for the United States Military Academy West Point.
+ And Fort Campbell’s Hunter William Reeves, a student who attends Fort Campbell High School, received a nomination to the United States Military Academy West Point and the United States Naval Academy.
Others in the region include:
+ Henderson’s Lacon Cade McKinney, a student from Henderson County High School who received a look to the United States Military Academy West Point and the United States Air Force Academy.
+ Mayfield’s Connor Andrew Drury, a student at Graves County High School who has been tabbed for the United State Military Academy West Point and the United States Naval Academy.
+ Symsonia’s Evan Reid Foley, a student from Graves County High School who has received a nod to the United States Military Academy West Point.
+ New Concord’s Braeden Wilson West, a student who attends Graves County High School and received direction to the United States Military Academy West Point and the United States Naval Academy.
+ And Murray’s Preston Alexander Key, a student at Murray High School who has recommendation to the United States Military Academy West Point.
Comer called these students “local leaders,” who will now have an opportunity to attend the nation’s academies because of their excellence in scholarship, leadership and character. He said their desire to serve the nation’s armed forces “doesn’t go unnoticed.”
