A report of smoke coming from a building at Hopkinsville Milling led to the discovery of a fire in a trash compactor Thursday afternoon.
Hopkinsville Fire Department Spokesman Captain Payton Rogers says at 5:45 pm a passerby noticed smoke coming from a building at Hopkinsville Milling and alerted firefighters.
The fire was contained to the trash compactor with no damage to the building. Firefighters are still investigating what could have caused the fire.
