Christian County Eye Opener Breakfast Will Target Workforce

A reminder: the Christian County Chamber of Commerce is hosting its next Eye Opener Breakfast Thursday, February 13, at The Silo in Hopkinsville.

Its theme: “Engaging the Next Generation of the Workforce,” and it’s expected to bring students, employers and community leaders together under one roof for a discussion about the future, and the vital role all play in shaping it.

Attendees can expect to hear testimony from a high school student about their workplace learning experiences, while a moderated panel of community leaders will share their insights on the importance of employer and community engagement in the schools.

Panel moderator Cody Noffsinger, controller with Hopkinsville Electric System, also serves as the chair of the workforce development committee for the chamber, and also participated in Christian County Public Schools master planning committee. His panelists include:

– Dr. Chris Boyett, Chief Academic Officer at Hopkinsville Community College
– Tracey Clark, Executive Director of the Jennie Stuart Health Foundation
– Cliff Hines, Kids & Family Pastor at New Work Fellowship Church
– Jennifer Maddux, Community Reinvestment Act Officer at Planters Bank

Registration is $20 for Chamber members, $25 for non chamber members. Tables of 10 are $175 for chamber members. Sponsors of the event are Ascend Elements, Christian County Government, and F&M Bank.
