Joy Denny Boren, age 67, of Cadiz, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, February 21, 2025, at her home.
Born on August 10, 1957, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late Samuel and Carolyn (Whitehouse) Denny, she was raised by her grandparents, the late Cecil and Olivia Farmer.
Joy married Dale Boren on August 16, 1975. She was a loving mother to their daughters and was overjoyed to become “Grandmomma” to her four grandchildren and great-granddaughter.
Joy worked in manufacturing at American National Rubber and in retail at Piggly Wiggly and Dollar General. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. She had a passion for helping others, whether offering a listening ear, a helping hand, or words of encouragement. She enjoyed playing games and expressing herself through poetry and writing.
In addition to her parents and grandparents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Ricky Denny.
Joy is survived by her husband of 49 years, Dale Boren of Cadiz; her daughters, Chasity Boyd (Clifton) of Cadiz and Melanie Stokes (Jerome) of Miami, FL; her grandchildren, Robin “R.J.” Wallace, Jr. (Hannah), Jason Wallace (Jasmine), Tiana Stokes, and Nolan Stokes; and her great-granddaughter, Nila Wallace.
Arrangements are being handled by Goodwin Funeral Home, 138 Main Street in Cadiz, where the family will receive friends after 4:00 PM on Monday, February 24, 2025. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, February 25, 2025, with Bro. Benji Boren officiating. Burial will follow in Boren Cemetery #2 in Trigg County.
