A Hopkinsville woman was charged after she attempted to run from police during a traffic stop on West 15th Street Sunday night.

Hopkinsville Police say they stopped a vehicle for a turn signal violation, and the passenger, 25-year-old Alexis Ohara, attempted to conceal a small blue bag under her armpit.

After a search of the bag, a crack pipe and a bag of suspected cocaine were reportedly found.

Police say she tried to run away, tensed when being handcuffed, slipped out of the cuffs in the cruiser, then continued to resist arrest while damaging the vehicle.

Ohara was arrested and charged with second-degree fleeing or evading police, possession of cocaine, tampering with physical evidence, resisting arrest, third-degree escape, and second-degree criminal mischief.
