Two men from El Salvador have been charged and a third is wanted after they became violent with a gas station clerk during a theft Tuesday morning.

Oak Grove Police say 26-year-old Alex Artola and 46-year-old Ortiz Humberto along with a third person attempted to take items from the Hi-Road convenience store on Hugh Hunter Road and were told to leave by the clerk.

They reportedly returned armed with weapons and attempted to attack the clerk, who was able to fend off the attackers, and they left in a vehicle.

Police say they located and arrested Artola and Humberto, but the third suspect, who may have a head injury, has not been found. He is described as a male, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a medium build, black hair, and brown eyes.

Humberto is charged with menacing, complicity to first-degree assault, and alcohol intoxication in a public place. Artola is charged with theft by unlawful taking, no operator’s license, menacing, first-degree assault, and alcohol intoxication in a public place.
