
A traffic stop on West 1st Street in Hopkinsville led to a foot pursuit and schools being put on a temporary lockdown Wednesday afternoon.
Hopkinsville Police say they stopped a vehicle for a seat belt violation, and the passenger, who was armed with a gun, fled on foot.
The passenger was reportedly located in an abandoned home on O’Neal Avenue and taken into custody.
The foot pursuit led to Christian County Middle and High School being put on temporary lockdown.
The driver was cited for not wearing a seatbelt, and the passenger was charged with fleeing or evading police.
