A Henderson man was charged with DUI third offense after a wreck on I-169 in Christian County Wednesday night.
Christian County Sheriff’s deputies say a southbound truck driven by 40-year-old Nathan Brown sideswiped a tractor-trailer driven by 53-year-old Terry Robinson of Sikeston, Missouri, at the 25-mile marker, but Brown didn’t stop.
Brown was reportedly located by deputies at the 16-mile marker and was swerving from lane to lane before being stopped.
Deputies say Brown was asked several times to get out of the vehicle, and when he did, alcoholic beverage containers fell to the ground.
Brown was reportedly unsteady on his feet and had the odor of alcohol coming from him. Deputies say Brown hit his head on the window and center partition of the patrol vehicle and was uncooperative when being spoken to.
Brown was arrested and charged with operating on a suspended or revoked license, DUI third offense, no registration plate, leaving the scene of an accident, and possession of an open alcoholic beverage container in a motor vehicle.
Robinson was taken to the hospital to be checked out for possible injuries.
