An Oak Grove woman was charged after she reportedly assaulted her child and then left him on the side of the road Wednesday morning.
Oak Grove Police say they were called to the area of Hunter Owen Court and found that 37-year-old Maria Berry used a belt to hit her child, choked the child, and left him on the side of the road during an argument over getting ready for school.
Berry was arrested and charged with fourth-degree assault, abandonment of a minor, intimidating a participant in the legal process, and first-degree strangulation.
