Hopkinsville Convention and Visitors Bureau Executive Director Amy Rogers has announced that the Southern Pickleball Association (SPA) will hold its first-ever Kentucky pickleball tournament in Hopkinsville.

The event is scheduled for May 8th and 9th at the state-of-the-art Planters Bank Jennie Stuart Sports Complex.

According to Rogers, this landmark event comes after the Huddle Up Group’s visit in November 2024, which gathered various sports rights holders to explore potential venues in Bowling Green, Madisonville, and Hopkinsville. She said after careful consideration and discussions with Sportsplex staff, the Southern Pickleball Association recognized Hopkinsville as the ideal location for their tournament.

The tournament is sanctioned by the Southern Pickleball Association, allowing medal winners to qualify for the 2025 Southern Pickleball Championships, held Deceber 31 to January 4, 2026, at Rhythm and Rally in Macon, Georgia, the world’s largest indoor pickleball facility.

The events include:

Saturday, May 8th: Men’s and Women’s Doubles

Sunday, May 9th: Mixed Doubles

Registration is $60, which includes one event, and $10 for each additional event.
