Still toting its “Big Pig Shindig” theme for this year, Trigg County’s Country Ham Festival Committee convened Friday afternoon — staying on track just seven months out before the next pork party.
Cadiz-Trigg County Tourism Executive Director and Committee Chairwoman Beth Sumner noted the organization is “in the process” of a sincere website redesign — and it is aligned with the ongoing renovations coming to GoCadiz.com.
Furthermore, new social media locations are already available for this, and future, Ham Festivals. She said one need only search “Trigg Ham Fest” on Facebook and Instagram for new spaces.
Amber Syester, of the Cadiz Police Department, confirmed that the return of the Ham Fest Canoe Race is one step closer to reality — behind efforts from Chief Tyler Thomas.
Pedal tractor pulls, she added, are also coming — courtesy of sponsorship from Veteran Drone Services.
Sponsorship opportunities for “The Big Pig Shindig” are already outlined, as well.
Valued at $5,000, a “Grand Champion” sponsor will have its title on all event materials, large logo placements on banners, websites, social media and other promotions, featured recognition in media coverage, and serve as an entertainment marker for Saturday’s music lineup — with opportunities to introduce headliners.
Valued at $2,500, a “Gold” sponsor will have verbal recognition during festival announcements, recognized media coverage, a chance to serve as an entertainment marker while introducing Friday’s music lineup, and prominent logo placement on all materials.
“Silver” sponsors, coming in at $1,000, will have medium-sized logo placements on select materials, recognized media coverage, serve as a label for contests and/or activities, and receive verbal recognition during the festival.
“Bronze” sponsors, around $500, will have small logo placements online, social media mentions and verbal recognition during the festival.
And “Community Supporters,” around $250, will have their names listed on websites and select materials, as well as several social media mentions.
In other Ham Festival news:
— The new logo, Sumner said, is complete, and four versions of it will exist. Its colors are Pantone 1817U, close to the former Trigg County Farmers Bank’s rustic red, and Pantone 415U, a soft gray. There is also a black-and-white version, as well as a negative.
With its font, Messenger, the logo is expected to serve not only as the festival’s official letterhead moving forward, but also as an easy transfer for stickers, T-shirts, hats, tote bags and other planned promotional and retail.
— Shannon Booth, On Main Director, confirmed that more than 140 vendors have already applied for spots, either through online or printed efforts. The deadline to apply is March 15.
Booth also confirmed that a 5K Ham Run is still in the works, and it will take place the weekend prior.
