
A pursuit that started in Christian County ended in Hopkins County on I-169 Sunday afternoon.
Kentucky State Police say they attempted to stop a vehicle around the I-169 and I-24 interchange, and the driver, 30-year-old Lamont Barnes of Evansville, Indiana, fled, reaching speeds of 120 mph.
The pursuit reportedly came to an end when Barnes’s car ran off the road and collided with another vehicle around the 32-mile marker of I-169.
Barnes was arrested and charged with operating on a suspended or revoked operator’s license, DUI, speeding, first-degree assault of a police officer, first-degree wanton endangerment, first-degree fleeing or evading police, and several traffic violations. His two passengers were cited to court and released.
Kentucky State Police were assisted by the Christian County Sheriff’s Office and Hopkinsville Police Department.
