Officials with the Hopkinsville Fire Department announced Monday the recent promotion of members to its officer corps — effective immediately.

Chad Taylor was promoted to the rank of captain, after most recently serving acting-captain for Battalion 2.

Prior to that, he primarily served as lieutenant at Station 2 on Battalion 2. He was hired in 2014 as a firefighter/EMT, obtained his AEMT, served as a driver/operator, and was promoted to lieutenant in 2019.

Anthony Richardson was promoted to the rank of lieutenant.

He was hired as a firefighter/EEMT in 2019, and in 2023 he received his AEMT and most recently served as back-up lieutenant and back-up engineer for Battalion 1. He is also currently in the paramedic program at HFD and will serve as lieutenant for Battalion 2.

Nathan Stewart was promoted to the rank of lieutenant.

He was hired as a firefighter/EMT in 2019, and served as a back-up engineer on Battalion 1 before transitioning to the role of deputy fire marshal in 2023.

It’s here, officials noted, where he will continue his efforts in the fire prevention division.
